Wellington Region Waste Free Workshops

Wellington Region Waste Free Workshops coming up in March and April.  Kate Meads is a waste educator and inspirational speaker who is coming to the Wellington Region this March & April to present her Waste Free Parenting and Living Workshops.

These workshops are supported by your local council, and are a great opportunity for locals to become educated and activated on reducing waste from all angles.
Attendees get a gift pack with their ticket, that is worth between $60 and $100 and is full of waste minimisation products like cloth nappies, food pouches and wraps, and more depending on the content of the workshop.

Porirua Waste Free Living Workshop, Te Rauparaha Arena, 17 Parumoana St, Porirua - Mana, Friday 3 April, 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Love horses?  Love people?  Got a spare few hours every week?

Then we would love your help!

The Wellington Group Riding for the Disabled, is based at Battle Hill Farm Park, Paekakariki Hill Road, Pauatahanui.

We work with people with disabilities, helping them gain from the therapeutic benefits of horse-riding.

We need people like YOU to help out for full or part days. We operate during the school term, Tuesday to Saturday.  Currently we are particularly short of volunteers, so if you can help on any of our ride days we would love to hear from you.

There’s loads of variety and lots to learn – plus we have lots of fun!

Full training and support is provided so you don’t need to know anything about horses or people with disabilities to get involved. You just need to be willing to lend a hand and be 16 years or over.
