Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
It's hard to believe we have only 2 full weeks of school left in 2023. What a busy time it has been. As always at this time of year, we try to stay in the now and enjoy the last weeks with those leaving and also plan for 2024.
This year we farewell and thank Rachel Jackson for her time with us in Rm 1 and wish her well in her new role.
Thank you to Jacqui Reading who has been a part-time teacher with us for several years. We wish her well in her full-time role next year. We are grateful that Jacqui continues to be a part of our community as a parent and Board member.
We also farewell and thank Hannah Fitzsimons who has worked as a teacher aide across the school and taken on the position of ASC supervisor. Hannah has grown in both roles and we wish her well in her studies next year and look forward to seeing her develop into a great teacher.
In 2024, Deb Neave will be taking a break from her classroom and her change of roles means she will be working across the school, releasing teachers.
We welcome Payge Garner to St Theresa's in 2024 as a full-time teacher. Payge has been working with us as a student teacher this year and we are very pleased to be able to support her in her first teaching role as she becomes a provisionally registered teacher.
We also welcome Jacque Syder as a part-time teacher for 2024.
Our teachers, classes and year groups for 2024 have been set and the children will be meeting their new teachers and classmates next Wednesday. The structure is slightly different from this year and is set out below:

After School Care: Next year we will be partnering with Kelly Club who will become our ASC provider. We are excited by this new opportunity to grow our ASC and look forward to working with them. More information will be coming out over the next 2 weeks however, below is a short note from Kelly Club.
Our amazing EPro8 team with the very long name are winners again, taking first place yesterday in the semi-finals. They will now go on to compete in the finals on Friday. The team have had to use their problem-solving and listening skills and work as a team to get this far and we are very proud of them.
A massive thank you to our Parents & Friends group for their co-ordination of our Christmas Family Fun Night last Thursday. It was another wonderful community event and launched us all into the Christmas spirit. Although this is more of a community event than a fundraisier, we were still able to raise close to $4,000 from food and Christmas sales. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us.
The date for our 2024 School Fair is set for Saturday, 16th March and planning is underway. We have a meeting tonight at school in the staffroom at 7p.m. for anyone interested in hearing about potential roles and plans. Everyone is very welcome.
Have a great weekend.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 3rd December, 2023
First Sunday of Advent
Mark 13:33-37
This Sunday we begin Advent and the start of a new Liturgical Year. In the Gospel reading from Mark, Jesus warns His disciples to be ready for when the Son of Man returns. At this time of Advent, we are reminded that we can prepare for Jesus through prayer, service to others and sharing Christ’s love. We are called to remain watchful and to take the time to recognise Christ in the people we encounter and in the activities of our daily lives. As we enter this busy season, remember to keep the true meaning at the centre. How will you prepare for Christ and will you pause just enough to notice Christ around you?
Welcome to our two new students
A very warm welcome to two new students in Room 1.
Rose Davies, daughter of Gareth and Sarah and sister of Esther in Room 10;
Riley Crosby, son of Jeffrey and Allana.
We wish you both many happy times here at St. T's as part of both our School and Parish communities.
