Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Yesterday we held the senior Scripture Reading Competition in the Church. Thank you to Jude McKee and Jocelyn Bryant for generously giving their time to do the judging. We were very impressed with the high calibre of Year 5 and 6 readers and congratulate all those children who made it into the finals. We were also impressed by several of our Year 4s who also read for us yesterday.
Our winners, Ryker Sidoti and Brooke Barber, will be representing St Theresa's at the Kapiti-Mana Scripture Reading Competition next Thursday, at St Theresas's.
Ryker was presented with the Woodley Family Scripture Reading trophy for Year 6, which was kindly donated by Sue and Murray Woodley.
Our production, 'Taonga, our Treasure' will be held on Tuesday, 19th September and Wednesday, 20th September at Southward Car Museum. Everything you need to know about the Dress Rehearshal Day and both shows will be coming out today. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Gina at the Office. We are very excited to be bringing another high quality St. Theresa's performance to you and my thanks go to the staff for the work they are doing to prepare the children. We all look forward to seeing you there.
Wishing you all a happy and safe weekend.
Nga mihi

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 27th August, 2023
Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time
Matthew 16: 13-20
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Simon Peter recognises that Jesus is the one and only Son of God. Jesus says that Peter will be the rock upon which He will build His church because of Peter's strong faith in Him. The Catholic Church is based on this faith in Jesus as the Son of God and Jesus continues to build His church with those like Peter who have a strong love and faith in Him. We are reminded in this Gospel that we can be part of the building of this Church through our own strong faith in Jesus Christ.
Welcome to our new student - Number 200!
A very warm welcome to Emme Grimwood, sister of Max in Room 10 and Myla in Room 7 and their parents Andrew and Camille. Emme already knows her way around school and we're sure she feels very much at home in Room 1.

After School Care - Permanent or Casual
We offer a fun, innovative program that caters for each individual child, in a safe and relaxing environment. Your child will be supervised by skilled leaders who enjoy creating opportunities for play, in and outdoors. We use the school playground as well as the swimming pool in summer. We are well-resourced and have planned and spontaneous activities that include baking, arts and crafts, quiet areas, science and outdoor physical/sporty activities.
Where? Parish Hall
When? 2.45pm – 6.00pm. Monday - Friday in Terms 1 and 4 (Summer terms) and 2.45p.m. - 5.30p.m. in Terms 2 & 3 (Winter terms)
Cost? $20 per day with a discount of 10% for siblings.
Early pick up (4p.m.) - $10 per child
There will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Our After School Care continues to grow in numbers. We have been reviewing procedures and will be implementing a few changes from the start of Term 3. These changes will be posted on the website and emailed to all families.
As we need to arrange extra staffing and food when our numbers go over certain ratios, we ask that the following procedure is followed:
- Please let us know by 12.30p.m., via email to ASC asc2021@stp.school.nz or text (021-08563504) to Hannah if your child is not attending a session they have been booked in to. If your child is sick on a day they are booked in please add ASC when you email the office so that they can be removed from the roll for that day. Due to the costs involved with increased numbers, there will be a $10 non-notification fee applied.
- New winter hours - in Term 2 and 3 we will finish at 5.30p.m.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Hannah, the programme manager, in the Hall.
The booking facility is on our website.
