Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
It's hard to believe we only have 2 days left of this term and then we are halfway through another year. Time flies when you're busy and having fun!
Last week we were visted by Te Ahi Ora. The group deliver engaging learning pathways that enhance wellbeing through inspiring creativity, connecting communities and providing ongoing opportunities for growth.
Te Ahi Ora has 5 main goals:
– Engage kids and parents in challenging and rewarding physical activity
– Enhance self-confidence, explorative play and creative expression
– Provide inspiration and learning pathways for further growth
– Bring the community together to connect and celebrate
– Combat digital addiction and screen dependence
All of the children were involved in skills workshops during the day and were given the opportunity to test their skills with fire at our Matariki evening celebrations. Follow this link for more information on Te Ahi Ora. https://teahiora.co.nz/
Just a reminder we have Rob Cope from Our Kids Online, presenting on Tuesday, 25 July at 6.30pm at Aotea College Auditorium.

The Board of Trustees has made a committment to funding this very important message and we have teamed up with 2 local schools - Pukerua Bay School and Paremata School to share costs.
If you have registered through the Google Form, please pay the $10 by internet banking with your name as reference. We will not be issuing tickets but your name will be on a list at the entrance to the auditorium.
We are very aware that finances are strained right across the country at present however, this message is vital to the safety of all of the children in our community. No one should miss hearing this message because of the cost and we will not be following up on payment so please fill in the Google form so we can add your name to the list. Our goal is to have every family represented at this evening.

Last Thursday's Matariki celebration was another great success. We had a beautiful still night and it wasn't even that cold! The Church was so much more accommodating than the Hall, the sausage sizzle and hot chocolate were great and everyone loved the fire dancers. Thanks to everyone for coming and celebrating with us and special thanks to the Parents & Friends group for co-ordinating the kai.
Today the children are enjoying their PB4L schoolwide reward. The children voted throughout the term using the gold tokens that they earn for being spotted following our focus area. Today each pod enjoyed a movie with a special popcorn treat.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break, enjoy some time relaxing and travel safely if you are heading away. Let's hope this lovely weather continues for a while.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 1st July, 2023
Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Matthew 10: 37-42
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus outlines to his disciples the cost and reward of being a disciple and the decisions that one needs to make as a disciple of His. Jesus explains to his followers that we cannot love any person more than Jesus; to follow Jesus means we must take up our cross. Reflecting on this Gospel, we are reminded that when we choose to follow Jesus there may be times when have to make a difficult choice such as parting from others, maybe because they are doing things that are not right. This is not an easy thing to do but Jesus does promise us that it will be worth it to follow Him.
We warmly welcome Bobby Lane, son of Rod and Rebekah and brother of Eve in Room 8. He has joined the students in Room 2. A big welcome to Jesse Price, son of Samuel and Kate and brother of Georgia in Room 8, who has started his school year in Room 1.
We wish you both many happy years as part of our St. T's community and hope that lots of happy memories are made.
On behalf of all the support staff, we thank you for sending along the flowers which were made into bouquets for all of us. We also enjoyed a fantastic morning tea put on by the teachers and feel very valued and appreciated. We all love being part of the amazing staff that makes St. T's such a special place.
YOUR CHOICE CLOTHING (YCC) DAY FOR CARITAS - TOMORROW
Please bring a donation and wear your choice of clothing (non-uniform day).
This year, along with many other Catholic Schools in New Zealand, we are raising money for Oecusse School in Timor-Leste. This school has over 800 students and no working toilets. With our combined effort, we can make a difference and get working toilets for these children.
Thanks in advance for your generosity and support.
Message from The Attendance Dues Team
The Term 3 statement will be emailed to all families in early July. Please check that the invoice has not gone to your Spam/Junk Inbox and that all your children are listed on the statement.
If you are paying by regular instalments, payments should be set up to close the balance by 30th November 2023 or by arrangement with the Dues team.
Financial assistance is available to families experiencing financial hardship (loss of income/redundancy, family reasons, etc.). It is a condition of the assistance application that the family has an affordable regular payment in place.
If you have any questions, please contact us:
Phone: 0800 462 725 Email: dues@wn.catholic.org.nz Text: 021 08907902

- Please let us know by 12.30p.m., via an email to ASC asc2021@stp.school.nz or text (021-08563504) Hannah if your child is not attending a session they have been booked in to.
