Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Last week we celebrated our annual Book Week. The activities were co-ordinated by our Hub Leaders with support from Sarah Hunt and ended with a Book Character Parade and the famous St. T's staff play. This year the staff acted out the book "Giraffes Can't Dance" and the word is this was the best yet. We also held our annual Scholastic Book Fair in conjuction with Book Week and a percentage of sales comes back to the school which help us to purchase books and resources for the Learning Hub. Thank you to everyone who supported the Book Fair and a special thanks to Sarah Hunt for all the work she puts into this very successful annual event.
Next Thursday (22nd June) we will be holding our school celebration of Matariki. This year we have a special group supporting the entertainment. All the details are in this newsletter and we hope to see you all here.
Our After School Care continues to grow in numbers. We have been reviewing procedures and will be implementing a few changes from the start of Term 3. These changes will be posted on the website and emailed to all families who are currently enrolled.
As we need to arrange extra staffing and food when our numbers go over certain ratios, we ask that the following procedure is followed:
- Please let us know by 12.30p.m., via email to ASC asc2021@stp.school.nz or text (021-08563504) to Hannah if your child is not attending a session they have been booked in to. If your child is sick on a day they are booked in please add ASC when you email the office so that they can be removed from the roll for that day. Due to the costs involved with increased numbers, there will be a $10 non-notification fee applied.
- New winter hours - in Term 2 and 3 we will finish at 5.30p.m.
Have a great weekend.
Nga mihi,
Donna McDonald - Principal

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 17th June
Eleventh Sunday of Ordinary Time
Matthew 9:36-10:8
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus sends the twelve apostles to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven. The word apostle means one who is sent. We are reminded today that we are also sent by Jesus to teach about God and to live out the values He taught us. Like the apostles, we do not have to go far to achieve this. We are following Jesus' instructions and being apostles when we simply share God's love with our families, schools and community.
School photos - Wednesday, 21st June
Individual photographs are taken of ALL children on the day, HOWEVER there is no obligation to order either these or the class photos. There is also an option to have siblings photographed together - details of this will be on the reverse of the advice notice which we have sent home this week. Sibling/family photos will only be taken of the families who have signed the request form.

Parumoana Cross Country Results
Netball Results - Saturday, 10th June, 2023
St. T’s Angels vs Titahi Bay Kereru: 17 - 12 for a win. A great game of netball to watch! The scores were even most of the game but we managed to get ahead in the 2nd half. Player of the Day went to Hannah Murphy for outstanding shooting and feeding the ball in/out of the goal circle to get around some very tall defenders! Magic Moment went to Amelia Ho who scooped up almost every loose ball that came her way and sent it back down court towards our goal.
