This week's Gospel Reflection - Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday
Matthew 28:1-10
In today's Gospel, the angel appears and proclaims that Jesus has risen. Jesus himself then appears to Mary Magdalene who carries the message that Jesus has risen and will meet His disciples in Galilee. In our faith journey, we can sometimes question our faith; we examine the details and question what we believe and why. This Gospel and the many other readings which surround Holy Week and Easter Sunday, remind us of what is at the core of our faith. We are reminded that the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest feast in the Church Year. It is, so to speak, God’s seal of approval on Jesus’ life. It is also our assurance of a heavenly reward.
A double whammy this week! Apologies that the Week 7 photo didn't make it to print but here it is alongside Week 9. Great work on the part of all these SPARKly children!
Start date for Term 2 - please take note
Whilst the official start date for Term 2 is Monday, 24th April, this is a Teacher Only Day. Tuesday, 25th is ANZAC Day so children will return to school on WEDNESDAY, 26TH APRIL.
Pizza Fridays in Term 2 - Everything you need to know
In Term 2, there will be pizza available for 9 weeks, starting on Friday, 5th May. NO PIZZA ON THE FIRST FRIDAY (28th April) AS IT IS A SHORT WEEK.
The full procedure details for ordering are attached.
A large number of children were lucky enough to represent St. Theresa's at the Women's and Men's Phoenix Games on Saturday. They were Half-time Heroes and got to play a 6 v 6 game in front of the crowd or they were Mascots and chaperoned the Phoenix Women's team onto the field before the start of their game or they received one of the ten double passes! How lucky are our kids? Special thanks to Emma Barbarouses for organising this amazing opportunity for our children.
Another great act of service - well done, Myla
In Terms 2 & 3, children are to wear their winter school uniform. Please check our website to see the details of what the expectations are.
Our uniform supplier will be on site on the following Fridays in Term 2, from 2p.m. onwards:

Our young rangatahi leaders had a fun afternoon meeting up with other rangatahi leaders from schools across our Northern Porirua Kahui Ako. What a great Haka you all performed in your different groups.

School holiday fun….ideas for those colder days
As we head into the cooler changes of Autumn and the clocks fall back an hour, finding activities on colder days, especially during school holidays, can be tricky. Here are some ideas to get you started:

- Read a non-fiction book to learn something new
- Create some autumn theme crafts - lots of ideas online (some ideas here)
(create an Autumn or Winter themed bookmark for Mrs Hunt to print and share with other readers)
- Read a book a day challenge - under a blanket, on a rainy day, in bed……..
- School holiday fun in Wellington - Info here
- Sign up for a children's library card at one of the Porirua City Libraries
