Gospel Reflection - Second Sunday of Lent
Second Sunday of Lent Matthew 17:1-9
Today’s Gospel tells the story of a great moment in Jesus’ life and the lives of His closest disciples: Peter, James and John. Jesus went up the mountain with His three disciples and He became a bright light; two important men, Moses and Elijah are seen with Jesus. Then God himself said “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him. Jesus told His disciples to not tell anyone of this event until after He had risen from the dead. This was one of Jesus' greatest moments and provided sustenance for the difficult times that were to come. We are reminded to draw courage from the good times to help us get through the rocky parts of life and to continue to trust in God.
As previously requested this term, we again ask that you simply obey the road rules which state you may not park on yellow lines nor over driveways. Apart from it being illegal, it is causing problems with the safety of our community as well as disruption to and disregard for our neighbours. Just don't do it. Please.
They're headed for wedded bliss!
We're sure you would all like to join us in offering huge congratulations to Juan, Donna and the whole McDonald family as they celebrate the wedding of their son, Liam. This special occasion takes place on Friday and we expect it's going to be awesome.
Have the best time ever, Donna - we're looking forward to hearing all about it!
A new baby has arrived..........
On behalf of our whole School community, we send congratulations to the du Plessis family on the arrival of a new baby girl, a sister to Linden in Room 4. We hope she brings you many, many blessings throughout her life.
All absences from school (illness, appointments, holidays during the school term, etc.) need to be communicated to both the classroom teacher AND the Office email address (office@stp.schoo.nz).
AFTER SCHOOL CARE - It's all happening here!
March Madness requests and an offer of help!
Do you have any gorgeous cups & saucers or plates that you no longer need?
We are looking for some for March Madness. Donations do not need to be a set; one-offs are welcome just no chips or breaks please. Items can be dropped into the Green Room opposite Room 2. Thanks in anticipation.
Can you help make SUSHI for March Madness?
Sushi was such a huge hit at the Xmas Night last year that we have decided to run a SUSHI STALL at our March Madness Fair.
We need helpers to make one or a mixture of the following:
- Vegetarian
- Teriyaki Chicken
- Tuna Mayo
If you can help, please email Yvette and Mike Tohill at yvetteandmike@yahoo.co.nz or 0211909677
What’s hiding in these jars? Could there be lollies, party favours, hair accessories, Lego, coins, pens, a game, Easter Eggs or something else?
It is a MYSTERY!
Come and collect a jar from outside the office or use a jar from home to hide mysterious prizes for March Madness! Drop your jar/s to the Office.
If you know of any college-aged people (maybe ex St. T's students?) who would like to help out on the day, please let Shona Hockings know.
If anyone needs help carrying items from their car, the senior children in Rooms 9 & 10 are ready to help. Just pop in to ask for assistance!
March Madness Fair - Cry for help!
MARCH MADNESS IS NEARLY HERE BUT WE STILL NEED 28 HELPERS!
It would be a shame to have to cancel some activities and/or stalls! We need YOU!
Games – 12 more helpers needed.
The co-ordinators have been working hard and the Fair is going to be so much fun BUT the games can only happen if we get more helpers!
You just need to show up and have fun with the community.
Food – 5 more helpers needed on the day.
All equipment & food will be organised, just turn up and cook away!
Colourful Creatures – 5 more helpers needed.
Can you face paint, paint nails, apply temporary tattoos or spray coloured hairspray?
We promise you’ll laugh and have fun while connecting with your creative side!
Books – 3 more helpers needed.
We’ve had an influx of books.
Are you a bookworm? This is the stall for you!
Puzzle & Illusion Room – 3 more helpers.
Do you like thinking outside the box?
This stall promises lots of fun and craziness!
