Gospel for Sunday, 11th September, 2022
Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 15:1-32
Being lost can be a confusing and sometimes frightening thing. When we are found or when we find our way out, it is a great relief. In this Sunday's Gospel, Jesus tells us three stories about something or someone being lost and then found. The three people who are searching for the lost are a shepherd, a woman and a father. They teach us that God is searching for us when we are lost and that no matter what we do, God will always take us back. This Gospel is a reminder to us that if we are lost on our journey, we can call out to God for help through prayer and know that He is always there for us.
A new family member started school this week!
We're so happy to welcome Lachlan Cato to Room 1. He's the brother of Izzy and Sammy and the son of Tom and Nicky. We hope you have a great time here at St. T's, Lachie!

An exciting match in cold and tough conditions but at least the rain stayed away.
Another game where the opposition had a few tall players. In the second half, our shooters simply got shot down by their strong and tall defense and we only scored one goal.
Just as well our defence keeps getting better and better with each game, which shows in the result. Again we won turnovers due to held ball.
Player of the Day went to Willow Dunne for being everywhere on the court. She never stopped moving and took every opportunity for intercepts and got plenty.
Magic Moment was how Sophia Davis kept Tawa to a low score by intercepting their passes within our circle multiple times.
Last game of the season on Saturday - Go the Angels!

Children Only Bring and Buy Day - Thursday, 27th October
You know all those pre-loved children's books, toys, games, ornaments, bric-a-brac, etc., that you don't want in your home anymore? Well, WE WANT THEM!! With the school holidays coming up, there is a great opportunity to have a spring clean and we can all benefit!
Our annual Children's Bring and Buy Day is on Thursday, 27th October. All donations of goods can be dropped off in Rooms 9 & 10. Thanks in anticipation!
More details about the actual day will be available closer to the event. It's always so much fun and totally organised and run by the Year 5s and 6s for the whole school.
Kapiti Coast Catholic Schools Scripture Reading Competition
A big congratulations to both Piata Gargiulo and Jacob Song who competed the Kapiti Coast Catholic Schools Scripture Reading Competition at Our Lady of Kapiti last week. Piata came second in the Year 6 category and Jacob third in the Year 5s. There was a lot of tough competition but both students proclaimed the Scripture clearly with confidence and connection and represented our School with pride.
YCC Day is the day when thousands of young people across New Zealand gather together in solidarity for a good cause and have fun by wearing non-uniform for the small cost of a gold coin. We come together to bring about lasting change for a school who may not enjoy the same privileges as ourselves. For YCC Day in 2022, we are supporting Laura Vicuna School in Bethlehem.
Laura Vicuna School is a small school situated in the Holy Land. The school began in 1988 and is in dire need of support to fix and repair toilets, purchase a new laptop and projector as well as round tables for small group learning activities.
