Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Thank you for your support of our Matariki celebrations last Thursday. We were blessed again with a beautiful clear sky and a crisp evening. The children did a wonderful job of telling the story of the nine stars of Matariki and it was great to be able to use our giant stars again. Special thanks to Lucy Kerr and the Parents & Friends group for organising the sausage sizzle and hot chocolate on the night. It was amazing to see the whole country join in celebrating this very special and important time of the year in which we reflect on the past year, celebrate the present and plan for the year ahead.
Tomorrow is our annual Colour Run and it's looking like we will have stunning weather once again. The children have been training hard for cross country and this is a fun way to celebrate all that hard work. All the details are in this newsletter and we are looking forward to seeing many of you at school tomorrow to cheer the children on.
Our After School Care programme will be making some changes to the fee structure effective from Monday 27 June. We will have a 2 tiered payment structure:
Children attending up to 4pm - $10 per child - no sibling discount
Children attending up to 6pm - $20 per child 10% sibling discount.
The new details will be updated on our website. Please remember you can book your children in for single days or a full week to suit your situation and details for bookings are also on the website.
Have a lovely weekend.

Gospel for Sunday, 3rd July, 2022
14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 10:1-12,17-20
This Sunday's Gospel follows immediately on from last Sunday’s. Jesus sends 72 disciples out to proclaim the Kingdom of God. As He sends them, He tells them they do not need to take anything on their journey; that they need only the grace of God with them. Although the world tells us that we need many things in order to be happy, Jesus is telling us that all we need for the journey is His grace and the knowledge that we are doing His work. We can reflect on this Gospel and think about all those things we think we need but that in reality do not really make us happy or help us on our journey.
Room 2 has had lots of fun learning about Matariki and the 9 stars. Our favourite stars are Matariki (the Mother star that guides us and gives us hope), Waiti (connected to our freshwater and creatures that live in our rivers and lakes) and Waita (connected to our salt water and kai moana). We have loved doing our Star Art - painting, colouring and doing collage stars.
Colour Run - It's all happening tomorrow!
