Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
What a super busy week we have had. The weather has been great for cross country training and the children are all increasing their fitness everyday. We will be setting a date for our Colour Run shortly and will give you all the details as soon as possible.
Today we enjoyed a mini concert from the musicians who teach at Good Time Music Academy. The children loved learning about the different instruments in a fun and interactive setting. If you want to enrol your child to learn to play an instrument, look out for the flyer coming home today.
Our Young Joey's group have been very busy working during their lunch break in the Parish Foodbank. Thank you to Olivia McKennie for supporting these children to undertake this very important work and teaching them about service to others.
The senior toilet block is nearly complete and we are very grateful to the ADW and our builders from Peryer Construction for ensuring this build has been seamless and on time. We are hoping to be using them again in early June.
Tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day and all children are invited to wear something pink with their uniform as a sign of zero tolerance for bullying behaviour. In Aotearoa, Pink Shirt Day works to create schools, workplaces, communities and whānau where everyone feels safe, valued and respected. We are asking for a gold coin donation that will go to the Mental Health Foundation to support the work they do to end bullying, celebrate diversity and spread aroha.
Have a great weekend.

Gospel for Sunday, 22nd May, 2022
Sixth Sunday of Easter
John 14: 23- 29
In this Sunday's Gospel reading, Jesus promises His disciples that the Father will send the Advocate, the Holy Spirit.
For most of us, peace is understood as the absence of conflict. We long for “peace and quiet.” Jesus gives us the gift of peace but not as the world gives peace. The peace of Christ is that state of being that exists when heaven and earth (God's will and our lives) connect in our hearts. We are reminded in this reading that peace is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. In Mass when we offer each other a Sign of Peace, we are not saying hi to one another but offering our deepest wish that Jesus will always be present in their hearts.
We have also been looking at how to be kind by smiling at other people to help them feel happy. Last week we got 251 people to smile back at us. It made us happy and we think it made them happy too. This week we have been learning to give and accept compliments.
Give it a try today.

Message from The Attendance Dues Team
Just a friendly reminder that full payment of the Attendance Dues for 2022 is due by 31 May 2022. If you are paying by regular instalments, payments should be set up to close the balance by 30th November 2022 or by arrangement with the Dues team.
The Term 2 invoice will be emailed to all families shortly. Please check that the invoice has not gone to your Spam/Junk Inbox and that all your children are listed on the statement.
Financial assistance is available to families experiencing financial hardship (loss of income/redundancy, family reasons, etc.). It is a condition of the assistance application that the family has an affordable regular payment in place.

Our gardener, Elsje, has a wee request! She is working on the veggie boxes and was wondering whether a farm/smallholding family in our school has, by any chance, access to well broken down horse or sheep manure that can be used to build up the soil. She is happy to be contacted directly on 021 084 259 25 or newgrowth.wellington@gmail.com
