Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
During the week, our COVID numbers have steadily increased and we currently have over 40 children at home, either with COVID or isolating as a household contact. We also have 3 staff members who are positive cases and isolating at home. We have a good supply of RATs at school so if you would like some to have a home, please let your child's class teacher know and we will arrange for them to be delivered. Thank you all once again, for continuing to monitor your children. We are seeing that monitoring symptoms, testing and isolating quickly helps to keep the spread at a manageable level. Thanks you also for continuing to wear masks on site and supporting our senior students to wear masks at school.
Last week we welcomed Katherine Spinks onto our staff. Katherine will be working in Room 2 as a teacher aide and we look forward to welcoming her officially next term at our powhiri.
It was lovely to see Room 2 outside earlier in the day, enjoying the warm morning while drawing some amazing pictures of God's creatures. They are so talented.
Last night we held our second Board meeting for Term 1 and welcomed Jocelyn Bryant onto the Board as a Proprietor's Appointee. Thanks Jocelyn, for accepting this role and we look forward to working with you.
What a quiet drive to work this morning! We are so excited to see Transmission Gully finally open. We will be closely observing the effect this has on the traffic through Plimmerton. Room 10 have been doing a small study on traffic flow and will be interested to see the difference it makes.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Gospel for Sunday, 3rd April, 2022
Fifth Sunday in Lent - John 8:1-11
In this Sunday’s Gospel, a sinner is brought to Jesus but He does not condemn her. The way that Jesus treats this woman is a reflection of how we are treated by God. Jesus shows us that God doesn't look at us with a magnifying glass; He doesn't highlight our faults and our sins. Instead, God sees each of us completely and really as we are, as we might see ourselves in a mirror. God doesn't focus on our sins. God forgives our sins, fully and completely, so that we can become the people He wants us to be. God sees the people we can become as we grow in His love. We are asked to look at both ourselves and others in the way Jesus looked at this woman, to not focus on faults and wrongdoings but to look as God looks.
Sparks of God - 2022, Term 1, Week 7
Despite all the rain and wind, these SPARKS were fantastic and shone brightly for us all to see!
STAFF ONLY DAYS - Please mark your calendar
Monday, 2nd May and Friday, 3rd June are both STAFF ONLY DAYS which means no school for your children!
Monday's Staff Only Day is for teachers to work with our advisor on Structured Literacy. This is a Ministry funded professional development day and we have to work within a limited timeframe.
Friday's Staff Only Day is a Northern Porirua Kahui Ako day. This is an opportunity for all of the 10 schools in our Kahui Ako to work together, collaborating on our achievement challenges.
St. T's very own, first ever COOKBOOK!!
The Parents & Friends Committee are currently working on creating St. Theresa’s first ever School Cookbook. This will be made up of family favourite recipes from our School and Parish community. We would like every family to contribute a recipe that means something to them, whether it’s your child’s favourite chicken meal or a secret sauce that has been passed down generations.
You can enter your recipe details here or snap a picture of the recipe and email it to: sttheresascookbook@gmail.com
It would be amazing to have a little blurb with your recipe but if words fail you, then just send the recipe through on its own.
Caritas Challenge 2022 - TOMORROW
Caritas is a Catholic organisation that works really hard in New Zealand and many other countries around the world. At the moment, Caritas is working particularly hard to provide aid to Ukraine. They need our support so we have decided that for the Caritas Challenge this year, everyone in the school will make a sunflower (a symbol of peace) that they can take home, for a donation to Caritas.
This will be on TOMORROW. Can children please bring a monetary donation and they can also wear something yellow with their school uniform on Friday - eg, yellow socks, headband, jersey, t-shirt, scarf, hat. We will be creating sunflowers with our buddy classes. The money raised will be going to Caritas to support their aid efforts in Ukraine.
There are still some chairs available........
