Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
Wow! It has been so great to see the children enjoying all the activities and learning that happens at this very special time of year. We have had baking, swimming, Bush Sprouts, speeches, Christmas activities and of course singing and practising for our retelling of the Christmas Story.
The children have been preparing for Advent by learning the stories of Jesus's family through the Jesse Tree. Each day classes start with a Bible story and a song and then they hang a new symbol on their tree. The symbols represent a story from within Jesus's family tree and each day is a step closer to His birth.
It is so lovely to see the range of designs across the school.
One of the best parts of my role is getting to see the amazing talent that we have right across the school. Yesterday Isaac Ringrose and Emerson Allen shared a book they have been working on all year. This was their own project that they worked on in their own time and it was awesome to see how very proud of it they were. We made copies for each classroom, so now they are published comic book artists!
As you will be aware, from tomorrow the whole country moves into the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights). Although the Wellington/Porirua region will be at Orange level, this does not affect schools for the remainder of the school year. The Ministry of Education has informed all schools across New Zealand that we are to remain in the Alert Level that we are in, until the end of the year and that all schools will move to the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights) from 1 January, 2022. This means that we will stay in our current Alert Level 2 status until school finishes on Wednesday, 15 December. Please remember to scan in if you need to come into the school, wear a mask and try to keep a social distance from others.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Rooms 2 and 1 have been reading the picture book, "Maddi's Fridge." We came up with an idea to make a difference and help people in our community. Our idea was to do jobs at home to help our parents and whanau and earn packets of food to give to families in need. We are collecting food that children might like to eat over Christmas. We are just like Saints!
Christmas wine - cut off TODAY!
Make the most of this opportunity to order some wine from the Sileni range - you still have a short time to put an order in!
Pool keys for sale for the summer season
Our School pool is now available for use for the summer season (December - March). Keys can be purchased at a cost of $100 per key. The Terms and Conditions are attached as well as a Key Allocation form. If you would like to buy one, please read through the T & Cs and complete the Key Allocation form and return to school, either in hardcopy form or emailed to the Office. You will be aware that the St Theresa's After School Care programme is now under the management of the Board of Trustees. There are very few noticeable changes and we would like to reassure you that the programme is continuing to be run to the very high standards we have become used to and without any staff changes, this provides continuity and stability.
We have kept the fee structure the same as before, $20.00 per day with a 10% discount for siblings. However, there will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Keller in the hall.
The booking facility is on our website.
