Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
It's amazing to think we are halfway through Term 4 and only have 44 sleeps until Christmas - where has that time gone? It's been lovely to have such warm, settled weather this week and the children have been making the most of it, getting outside and enjoying activities such as Bush Sprouts. The pool is clean, warm and ready to be used and it is really beginning to feel like we are in for a great summer!
Thank you to Kerry Simmons for dropping off 12 boxes of delicious apples to the school. The children have been enjoying them for a snack all week and the staff have made several recipes with apples this week.
As I'm sure you will all be aware, the public health order that requires all people working on site, both voluntary and paid, comes into effect on Monday, 15th November. This means that we will be requiring evidence of vaccination status for anyone who is a parent help, in any way, from 15th November and anyone who hasn't received their first dose of the COVID vaccination cannot be on site. Please be assured that we have been working hard to ensure that there will be very little or no impact on the children. Thank you for your continued support as we navigate these new regulations.
Thank you to everyone who donated items for the 'Shoebox Christmas'. We were very fortunate to receive some generous cash donations from members of our Parish community and Kannika, Gabriella and I were able to spend that money yesterday to complete the boxes. These will be delivered next week and distributed in time for Christmas.
We are currently looking ahead at options for our After School Care programme and have approached Kelly Club about the possibility of taking over the programme from next year. If you are looking for after school care or even contemplating using the facility, can you please complete this survey St Theresa's Kelly Club survey.
Unfortunately due to the current Level 2 restrictions and the unpredictability of the changing levels and traffic light system, etc., we have had to make a definitive decision regarding our end of year celebrations. As always, we strive to keep the children at the heart of our planning and ensure that we honour the end of year for them and particularly for our Year 6 leavers.
We will not be able to have the whole school family/whanau attend these events however, we will be able to have 2 members of each Year 6's family/whanau in attendance and you will be contacted about that seperately. Both celebrations will be filmed and the link will be shared with you all. We are very grateful to Louie and Breigh Sutherland for their very generous support in organising the filming of both celebrations.
The details for our end of year celebration and final Mass are listed below and will be marked on the school calendar:
- Tuesday, 14th December 11a.m. - End of year Prizegiving and Christmas play in the Church.
- Wednesday, 15th December 11a.m. - End of year Mass in the Church. School finishes at 12.30pm.

Gospel reading for Sunday, 14th November, 2021
In Room, 10 we have been doing koru art inspired by Raewyn Harris. First, we picked either a circle or a rectangle shape and we drew some silver fern spirals and leaves and trees. Next, we used a sharpie to outline our art and after that we added colour with oil pastels. We could use either cool colours, warm colours or complementary colours and then we blended colours together.
Also, we have been working on a presentation. People are researching topics and are doing all sorts of things for their presentation like i-movie, scratch, news reports, reports, slideshows or speeches. We will all present something to our class this week or next week. Wish us luck!

Katelyn and Elijah Lim have a new baby brother! We congratulate their parents Mingyao and Debbie and their whole family and wish them many blessings of good health and happiness.

Room 2's 'baby' needs fixing - can you help?
Is there anyone out there who could sort this for us - it doesn't even need to be professional!? The body and head just need to be secured. We have bought a brand new onesie in anticipation! Please let Gina know if you want to give this a go. Many thanks in advance.

St. T's After School Care is up and running - come check it out!
You will be aware that the St Theresa's After School Care programme is now under the management of the Board of Trustees. There are very few noticeable changes and we would like to reassure you that the programme is continuing to be run to the very high standards we have become used to and without any staff changes, this provides continuity and stability.
We have kept the fee structure the same as before, $20.00 per day with a 10% discount for siblings. However, there will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Natalie in the hall.
The booking facility is on our website.
