Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
Welcome back to Term 4 and what a full on Week 1 it has been.
I am sure you were all as proud of your children over the past 2 nights as we were and would agree that seeing their beaming faces lit up on stage makes all the behind the scenes work so worthwhile. In our everchanging world, stability and normality are so important to the wellbeing of our children and the adults in our community. We will always strive to give our children opportunities such as the production, to express their creativity and to truly develop as holistic, autonomus learners. Their wellbeing is at the heart of every decision we make and they are the 'why' in what we do.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement as we wrestled with what felt like a moving target bringing our Production alive on stage. Thanks to Gina for co-ordinating her very own 'Ticketmaster' site. We still have some reconciling to do with payments, etc. and will be in touch regarding any refunds that need to be made or payments that are outstanding.
Thank you to our awesome staff - the children were so polished and prepared and nothing was a problem. Thanks also to Jacky Chapman for the stunning script we had to work with - they just seem to get better and better. We are all looking forward to the Vimeo link and being able to watch the show together, in a slightly more relaxed environment.
Thank you to the Parents & Friends group who saw another opportunity for fundraising and worked through the changing Covid levels and restrictions they brought. It was so lovely to be able to purchase home baking and a hot drink to enjoy at the show.
Our thanks go to Juan McDonald for transporting all of our props up to Southward on Sunday and to Gus Stewart for bringing his horse float to last night's show and taking all the props back to school for us.
Special thanks go out to our wonderful band members, Cherie Cheung, Kate and Sam Price, Rod Lane and Mike Aitofi, who were amazing! Thanks also to Jo Beasley for supporting the children's singing and working alongside the band.
Just a reminder, we have no school on Tuesday, 26th October, as all teaching staff will be attending the 2nd day of their Theology course. If you require care for your children on that day, our ASC are providing a full day session, if we have enough children enrolled for the day and all the details are in this newsletter.
Have a wonderful long weekend. Travel safely if you are heading away, take care and see you all in Week 2.
Donna McDonald - Principal
Do you need childcare on our Teacher Only Day?
Tuesday, 26th October is a Teacher Only Day. There will be care available through our After School Care programme for the whole day. It will be run from 8.30a.m. to 4.30p.m. in the Parish Hall. The cost is $60 for the whole day and children will need to bring their own food/snacks/drinks. If you are interested, please ring Natalie (ASC Manager) on 021-1450168 or email her on asc2021@stp.school.nz
This offer is available to all of our students, not only those who already attend ASC. We will need to have at least 6 - 8 children to make this viable.
Please contact Natalie as soon as possible if you are interested.
Congratulations to the Morrison and Price families who have new baby boys! Luke Morrison is now a big brother to Jude and Georgia Price is a big sister to Zachary. We wish many blessings on both these families.
Kids Art Products - for sale soon!
What's on offer?
You can purchase your child's art on a range of products, including calendars, diaries, sketch pads, mouse mats and gift cards.
What do the products look like?
Samples of the products are available to view at the school office.
How to order?
All orders will be completed online. A parent order form will be sent home in school bags next week with details on how to view your child's art and how to place an order.
Please support this Parents & Friends' fundraising initiative.
Pizza and ice Block Fridays are back up and running
This term, the Parents & Friends are again organising this for our students. Please make sure that you put your order in by 9a.m. on Thursday mornings. This will happen for 8 weeks in Term 4 - no pizza on Friday, 3rd December as it is our Whanau Day celebration.
The new date for this event is Thursday, 4th November. If you have any children's toys, games, bboks, etc. that you would like to donate or that aren't used by your children any more, please send them along to Rooms 9 and 10.

St. T's After School Care is up and running - come check it out!
You will be aware that the St Theresa's After School Care programme is now under the management of the Board of Trustees. There are very few noticeable changes and we would like to reassure you that the programme is continuing to be run to the very high standards we have become used to and without any staff changes, this provides continuity and stability.
We have kept the fee structure the same as before, $20.00 per day with a 10% discount for siblings. However, there will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Natalie in the hall.
The booking facility is on our website.
