Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
We are already at the end of Term 3 and 3/4 of the way through another year. The 3 weeks since our snap lockdown have been very full and daylight saving has begun again so, while the children have been excited to see each other we have noticed they are showing signs of weariness. A break when they can get out and about and a chance to readjust their time clocks will be very welcome.
We are currently working through classes, etc., for 2022 and confirming numbers. If you have a pre-schooler or know of a 4 year old who is looking at coming to St. Theresa's in 2022, please contact the office so that we can make sure they don't miss out on a space.
Term 4 brings a whole new buzz of busyness and excitement and we are always hopeful that we will be back in a more normal level to enjoy all the end of year celebrations. We will continue to communicate with you as we hear what is and isn't allowed next term.
Term 4, Week 1 is of course our production and we are grateful for both your understanding and support of the staff and children in getting the show onto the 'big stage'. Please remember we are operating under Level 2 guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and we have endeavoured to come up with the best option. We do however need all families to send back their order forms for their ticket and video link by tomorrow so that we can be sure of staying within the 100 person limit.
Wednesday was officially Cathlic Schools Day, with the theme of 'Turangawaewae - our place'. Unfortunately our planned celebratiobns with the other local Catholic schools needed to be cancelled due to being in Level 2. We will however, be celebrating tomorrow as a school, with Mass in the morning and a sports afternoon. Unfortnately we are not able to have parents, etc., attend these celebrations but we will take lots of photos and share these with you.
Have a lovely term break - recharge, travel safely if you're out and about and see you all next term.

During this time of crisis - health, social, environmental - let us reflect on how the use of material goods can be harmful for the earth. Let us choose to change and to move toward a simpler and more respectful style of life regarding creation. - Pope Francis
Gospel reading for Sunday, 3rd October, 2021
We hope you always enjoying coming to school and that you make many happy memories here at St. T's!
In Room 4 we have been practising really hard for our Production.
We have been learning about fractions in Maths and we had to share a cake with our friends and talk about how much they had. We have also been rehearsing our Scripture drama and song to share with the school on Friday. We have been reading big books with our friends and writing stories about pranks. What a busy week! We are definitely looking forward to the holidays.
We congratulate the Hesp family on the birth of their wee baby girl. Hone, Stacey, Andre, Noah and Alex - we wish you all lots of blessings, health and happiness for the whole family. How exciting to have a girl in the mix this time round!
We just wanted to give you a quick update about Mufti Mania. It was great to have so many of us joining together at the end of the last term, and also during this term, to support Kristus Raja School in West Papua. Thanks again to everyone for taking part. So far we have raised more than $22,000 for them.
We heard recently that the students and staff over in West Papua will return to school in October after almost 20 months in lockdown! The new desks and chairs are about to be constructed so that they can be ready before the end of the year, which is very exciting.
Everyone at Kristus Raja School will be super excited about returning to school and they are also looking forward to using the new desks and chairs coming soon. Thanks for making such a difference!
Kids Art Products - Sales start Term 4
This term, our tamariki have been working on some amazing pieces of art that will be turned into a range of products to purchase. Products include; calendars, diaries, sketch pads, mouse mats and gift cards. They make perfect Christmas gifts for the whānau!
More information about prices and how to purchase the products will be sent out early in Term 4. At that time, you will also be able to view your child's art online or you can even upload a different piece of art or photo, if you'd prefer.
Mr Byrne sharing his talents with the students in Room 6 - aren't these amazing? We wish we could publish all of the works of art but feel free to go and check them out once we're in Level 1 again!
Netball 2021 round up and prizewinners!

You will be aware that the St Theresa's After School Care programme is now under the management of the Board of Trustees. There are very few noticeable changes and we would like to reassure you that the programme is continuing to be run to the very high standards we have become used to and without any staff changes, this provides continuity and stability.
We have kept the fee structure the same as before, $20.00 per day with a 10% discount for siblings. However, there will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Natalie in the hall.
The booking facility is on our website.
