Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
On Monday I attended the Rotary Porirua, Gift to the World Leadership Awards. Our recipients this year were Archie Sinclair and Patrick Reiher and I was very proud to support them as they received their awards. For more information and to see the names of all the students from Porirua who received awards, you can follow this link https://poriruacity.govt.nz/your-council/news/inspiring-young-leaders-porirua-celebrated/.
It was a special treat to accompany Sarah Hunt and our Hub Leaders, Ava Woodley, James Tohill, Tom Rousell, Teddy Green, Keira Sidoti and Aden Abraham on their trip to the NZ Book Awards at the National Library yesterday. The children were able to hear from both the authors and illustrators of many of the books that were nominated this year. They also had a hands on illustrating workshop, were interviewed by Stuff Kid's TV, attended a book signing and even had a walk through Parliament grounds and had a photo with the famous lion. A huge thank you to Sarah Hunt for organsing this very educational, informative and fun day. We are also grateful to Fantail Services for the use of their school van for transport for the day.
Just a reminder about our Teacher Only Days on Friday, 20 August and Monday, 23 August. There will be no school, however we do have the After School Care programme running on Friday 20 August 8.30am - 4.30pm and the cost is $60 for the day. You can still book a place if needed.
We have started looking at and planning classes, etc. for next year. If you have a child who isn't enrolled and who will be starting school next year, can you please let us know? Also, if you know of other families who may be looking at St. Theresa's as an option, please ask them to contact Gina in the office. This helps us to plan class numbers, etc.
The Parents & Friends Ctte have a planning meeting tonight in the staffroom at 7.30pm that you are very welcome to attend.
Have a wonderful weekend.
kia pai tō rā whakatā!

Room 10 are very busy preparing for the Production. The children are working really hard to learn their lines and the Room 9 and 10 dance is coming along very nicely. This week the Hub Leaders have been on a trip to Wellington as part of the NZ Book Awards. I believe the children will be on the Kids' News channel this week! Way to go, kids.

St. T's After School Care is up and running - come check it out!
Many of you will be aware that the St Theresa's After School Care programme is now under the management of the Board of Trustees. There are very few noticeable changes and we would like to reassure you that the programme is continuing to be run to the very high standards we have become used to and without any staff changes, this provides continuity and stability.
We have kept the fee structure the same as before, $20.00 per day with a 10% discount for siblings. However, there will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Natalie in the hall.
The booking facility is on our website.
