Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
Thank you to everyone who managed to make time to meet with their child's teacher over the past 2 weeks. These are great opportunities to talk with teachers about progress, achievement and goals going forward. We are very grateful for our strong home - school partnership and value these opportunities to share your children's learning with you. If you were unable to meet with your child's teacher, please contact them to arranage a meeting. Thank you to our wonderful staff for the work they do to prepare for these meetings.
Planning and practices for our whole school production are full steam ahead and the children are sounding and looking amazing with their singing and dances. Please note that we will not be having whole school assembly on Fridays or Kapa Haka on Mondays until Week 8, due to the extra load of production.
It was so cool to see Pihinga Pod out doing their PE rotation on Tuesday - so many happy faces enjoying the outdoors.
Thank you for your support as we grow our After School Care programme. Yesterday was the biggest group ever - with 17 children in attendance! The children at ASC enjoy a range of activities and are given a lovely afternoon tea. Please check on the website for information or pop in and talk to Gina if you are interested in enrolling your child.
Our Teacher Only Days are on Friday 20 August and Monday 23 August and we are making a decision tomorrow afternoon on whether we offer the After School Care programme for the whole day on those 2 days. The cost is $60 per child per day and the programme will run from 8.30am - 5.30pm, at school. Please let Gina know by tomorrow if you are interested in using the facility. We will advise our school community on Monday, 9th August of the outcome.

Gospel reading for Sunday, 8th August, 2021
In Room 3, we have started doing '2 day' writing. This week we have come up with lots of creative ideas to explain why a banana could have grown so huge. We have also been focussing on the SPARK value of respect. Jesus taught us that respect is about treating others how we want to be treated. In Maths, we have been having a lot of fun with maps and directions. We are getting really good at learning our left from right.
All the sports results are right here!
This week’s results:
Player of the Day: Katelyn Lim
This week's update from our Parents & Friends Ctte - it's a must read!
This week we're asking for volunteers to come forward to help out with this term's fundraising, so please have a look at the list below and let us know where you'd like to help out. There's something to suit everyone, so don't be shy...it'll be fun!
Our School Production "And what if we all did that?' - a heads up!
Our School production takes place on Tuesday, 7th and Wednesday, 8th September at the Southwards Car Museum. Our dress rehearsal is on Monday, 6th September. Tickets and 'Everything you need to know' will be available soon so keep an eye out!
If you have any of these available for us to use for our production or if you have access to any, please let us know by emailing the Office. Many thanks in anticipation.
Possible child care option for our Teacher Only Days - please respond by tomorrow!
Depending on the number of children who require care on one or both of these days, there is a possibility that our After School Care programme will operate on both the Teacher Only Days (Friday, 20th August and Monday, 23rd August).
The programme will be open from 8.30a.m. - 5.30p.m. Children will need to bring their own morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. The cost will be $60 per day, for the whole day.
We need registrations of interest by no later than TOMORROW, Friday, 6th August to establish viability. If the programme does go ahead, parents can still enrol their children after this date. We will let you know on Monday, 9th August if this isn't going ahead.
Please email the School Office if you think you may make use of the programme. office@stp.school.nz
No Friday Assemblies until after Production
Just a heads up that we aren't having our usual assemblies on a Friday until our Production is finished. This time is used for singing practice. We thank you for your understanding.

St. T's After School Care is up and running - come check it out!
Many of you will be aware that the St Theresa's After School Care programme is now under the management of the Board of Trustees. There are very few noticeable changes and we would like to reassure you that the programme is continuing to be run to the very high standards we have become used to and without any staff changes, this provides continuity and stability.
We have kept the fee structure the same as before, $20.00 per day with a 10% discount for siblings. However, there will be no fee for sickness. Children can be booked in full time, on selected days or on a casual basis as well.
Enrolment forms are available from both the School Office or Natalie in the hall.
The booking facility is on our website.
