Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
We have a very full newsletter this week, with photos from our Colour Run, Matariki and many of the amazing activities the children have been part of this term.
There has been great excitement today, with the digging of our hangi pit and the preparation of food to cook in it. Thank you to our wonderful whanau for turning up today to help make sure our Matariki celebrations are a huge success. There are still tickets avaliable, so make sure you don't miss out on this one.
Our Colour Run last Friday was very cool and we are so grateful to our whanau and wider community for their support. We need to acknowledge those who turned up to help us on the day with colour throwing and supporting the children. A very special thank you to Trish Fitzsimons and the staff for supporting this event and of course our team of student Sports Leaders Andre Hesp, Dylan Goodstadt-Brown and Logan Simmons for designing and setting up the course. We also need to thank Commercial Plastering Ltd for sponsoring the colour powder and sending Keller and Will to help us on the day.
Wishing you all a safe and fun holiday break, here's hoping the weather holds for us.
kia pai tō rā whakatā!

Our Matariki celebration and hangi tonight from 5 - 7p.m.
Te Iwa o Matariki
From 5 – 7p.m. TONIGHT
Come along and enjoy some kai, entertainment, our lantern parade, reflection and manaakitanga with our whole School whanau.
If you don't already have your tickets, you can still buy them from the Office before the evening starts. Tickets need to be presented when getting your food - no cash will be handled in the serving area.
Children up to Year 6 - $5 per plate and everyone else - $10 per plate.
In the spirit of kaitiaki, we ask that you bring your own plate, knife and fork.
We will also be selling cups of hot chocolate on the night, for a gold coin donation - please bring your own cup!
THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU
We are so grateful to everyone for their generous donations of food, money and time which is going into making this such an amazing celebration and a special time of manaakitanga. This is where the true spirit of community and generosity of all our St. T's families is the most evident.
Our tamariki have been decorating the lanterns and stars this week. They are looking amazing. Thank you to Bridgette Murphy from Rangiwahia Environmental Centre.

By wearing mufti and bringing a gold coin donation, we will be supporting Kristus Raja School to repair their toilets, bathrooms and purchase new chairs and tables for children when they come back to their school.
Thanks for supporting Caritas with this year’s Mufti Mania.
The Parents & Friends committee is a voluntary-run group, set up to help raise funds to support the School’s current needs. It is also a great opportunity to get involved and meet other people in our School community. The purpose for fundraising this year is to help upgrade our play areas and fund resources for our School. We have an annual target of $30,000.
As a result of Covid-19, we are unable to do our main annual fundraiser (St T’s Carnival in previous years) and so have planned a number of smaller fundraising opportunities for the coming months. We really need your support in helping us reach our target and appreciate all your support so far this year. At this point in time, we have managed to raise $8,000!
If you would like to find out more about getting involved in the Parents & Friends committee, please contact Lucy Kerr and Yvette Tohill on pandf@stp.school.nz
