Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
This week, the children have all had the chance to work in Room 1 with Bridgette from the Rangiwahia Environmental Trust, supported by Sheena Beales. They have been creating stars and lanterns for us to use for Matariki. This has been challenging work for such young learners and we are sure you will be wowed by the final product. Thanks to Pauline MacLean for co-ordinating this.
Plans for our Matariki hangi are well underway. Thank you to all those who have answered the call for help. We are looking forward to a great night and hope you can all attend.
We have been so fortunate to have had Mike Montgomery as our volunteer handyman over the past couple of years. Sadly for us, Mike will be finishing up at the end of this term and while we will miss him around the school, we are very grateful to him for the time he has given us. This leaves a vacancy for a volunteer handy person, so if you know of anyone who may have a couple of hours spare each week and would be keen to do some odd jobs around the school please let us know.
We are very excited about our first ever Colour Run to be held on Friday, 2nd July from 1 - 2.45p.m. here at school. The children will be receiving a sponsorship/donation form today and more details will follow.
Have a wonderful weekend.
kia pai tō rā whakatā!
Donna McDonald - Principal
This week, Molly Skirrow joined the other students in Room 2. Molly is the younger sister of Daisy in Room 4 and the daughter of Paul and Annie. We're so happy to have you as part of our St. T's community.
Room 8 News
In Room 8, we have been designing and making new enclosures for the zoo animals we’ve been studying. Our enclosure is for squirrel monkeys and we have made a tyre swing, shelter house, a net bed, monkey bars and an access bridge for the zookeepers to cross.

How's this for something exciting?! On Friday, 2nd July from 1 - 2.45p.m. we're having our very own Colour Run. Sponsorship forms will be sent home today and closer to the time, more details will be given to everyone.
Mark this in your calendar so you can come along and support your child/ren - it's going to be heaps of fun.
Our Matariki celebration and hangi
We are only 3 weeks away from celebrating Matariki together as a school community! Preparations are being made for the hangi and we are hoping you can get behind this special event by donating something from the list below! These will be collected at the school office from Monday 5th July, so you have plenty of time to add something to your shopping list! If you are willing to contribute something, please send an email to mariabgair@gmail.com or text 021390041 to register your donation. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
