Kia ora koutou katoa St Theresa's whanau,
Today I met with the builders and architect working on our Junior Block development and things are on track for completion and handover during the 2nd week of the school holidays. We are looking at moving back into the building on Wednesday, 28th April and would be very greatful for any help moving furniture, etc. from our temporary accomodation. We will confim this date a bit closer to the time. Thank you for your patience and support while this building project has been completed.
On the subject of building... today I got to spend a session with the very creative Rooms 6 and 7 children in the Play Pod. It was a beautiful morning for building bases, huts, castles and a whole range of other structures. I was so impressed with the children's creativity, team work and imagination. Thanks Room 6 and 7.
Thanks also to Max and Klara from Room 3 for sharing their wonderful writing - always a highlight of my day.
Our "Move It" action for Caritas was a huge success. The children planned some very thoughful activities and we were blown away by your generousity to this very worthwhile cause.
Our school uniform is part of who we are as a school and we expect the children to wear the correct uniform to and from school and at any occasions we attend such as Mass and Assembly. Please support us in this by ensuring the children leave home and school wearing the correct uniform. In Term 2, we move into winter uniform which is only slightly different to our summer uniform. Please check the website to ensure you have the correct items.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Gospel reading for Sunday (Palm Sunday), 28th March, 2021
When Jesus died on the cross, a sign was placed above Him that said, “King of the Jews”. Most of the people misunderstood who Jesus was but the centurion who watched Him die said, “Truly this man was the Son of God.” In His death on the cross, Jesus’ true identity was revealed. As Christians, we pray that we will be able to recognize Jesus as the Son of God and remain mindful that He loves us and is with us always.
Last Friday, Emilia Bleach joined the children in Room 3. She is the sister of Matthew in Room 8 and the daughter of Dan and Helen. We welcome you and hope yo enjoy your time here at St. T's, Emilia!
Room 6 has created their own pepeha. We did a little bit of research and found out about our ancestors. We have been practising it a lot to be able to present them at Assembly and we have made some art.
We have also been creating some artwork with Mr Byrne, based on the art of Susan Silberzweig.
It is a self-portrait but we are trying to make ourselves look different. It’s got lots of different patterns. We have been learning about primary, elementary and alluvial colours. When we are finished it is going to look amazing.
