Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Kia ora koutou katoa St Theresa's whanau,
With less than 3 weeks till the end of term, there is still lots happening around the school.
The children have been back in the pool swimming and while there are squeals of 'it's freezing' they are still very keen to jump back in.
I have it on good authority that our Year 5 and 6 children are having a great time down in Nelson. The weather is a bit cloudy but warm and dry and everyone is having fun. We are looking forward to seeing them back next week and hope they bring some sunshine back with them.
Our Junior block modernisation is well and truly underway. The fences are up and we look like a real building site. The children have shown amazing flexibility this week, not only navigating new spaces but doing it in the pouring rain. A huge thank you to parents and staff who have worked together to support the children.
Thank you once again to our wonderful parish community for showing such manaakitanga to us and sharing their spaces during our building project. We are very grateful to Jocelyn and her amazing communication skills.
Kia pai tō rā whakatā
Donna
Gospel reading for Sunday, 29th November, 2020 - First Sunday of Advent
For our inquiry this term, we have been investigating an imaginary hidden village. When the children first visited the village, they discovered there were no trees or plants and the people were very sick. For an RE task, they were asked to find way to add SPARK (self-control, positivity, aroha, respect and kindness) to the village. Groups used colour to show how they added the SPARK factor to the village.
Parents & Friends - Wine and Kids Art update
Wine will be ready to collect next week. If you ordered, you will receive an email when it's ready to pick up.
We are selling pool keys for the summer season. The pool will be available from the beginning of December until approximately the end of March, depending on the weather. Use of the pool during term time and in the holidays is outlined in the agreement attached as well as all the other conditions.
The cost of a key for the whole of the season is $100. Head over to the office if you're keen!
Miniball results - Managers'/Coaches' reports
St. T's Thunderbirds lost their game this week but everyone played so well. Player of the day was Niamh who defended brilliantly.
St. T's Tigers won a hard, physical game but their resilience paid off in the end and I'm so proud of them. Lots of amazing goals. PoD goes to Jayden for great passing and showing confidence including shots at goal.
