It has been lovely this week to hear stories from the children about their adventures over the long weekend. Whether they stayed in Wellington and braved the weather or managed to get out and see a bit of our beautiful country, everyone agreed it was great to have a 3 day weekend.
A short week is always a bonus however, celebrating Labour Day reminds us that Christmas is just a round the corner and we only have 6 weeks left at school this year. This is a good time to check you have the dates for our end of year activities firmly locked into your diaries:
Monday 7 December 11am- Thank you morning tea. This is an opportunity for our staff to thank you all for your support this year.
Thursday 10 December 6pm - End of year whole school prizegiving ceremony.
Friday 11 December 9am - Final Assembly
Tuesday 15 December 11am - Final Leavers Mass. School finishes after this Mass at approximately 12.30pm.
Thank you to Paul and Kate Deere from New World Paremata for this very generous donation of a Little Garden. We currently have a small group of keen gardeners from Room 8 working with Aaron co-ordinating this project and will keep you up to date with the progress.
Speaking of gardening, how beautiful are the poppies that have been popping (excuse the pun!) up all over the school.
Have an amazing weekend, whatever you're up to.

Disco wrap up from Chrissie Swift
FINALLY we got to have our school Disco on Friday night! YAY! Carl, our DJ, was on fire again and was taking requests this year too…. lots of screams of joy, combined with dancing and singing.
Thank you so much to all the children for bringing ALL OF THE FUN and being so wonderful to be around. Secondly, thank you to all the parents who helped make this night the success it was - nothing like this can be done without the support of all our families. To see the joy on the children’s faces was worth every second.
Last but not least, thank you so very much to Paul and Kate Deere and the New World Paremata team, who again donated the hot dogs for all our children so they could have a yummy dinner. Their continued support of our School is amazing and we could never fundraise like this without them.
Thank you all for trusting me to organise such a loved annual event.
Chrissie Swift
As you are aware, work begins on the Junior block refurbishment on 23rd November. There are a number of jobs that need to be completed before the builders can start e.g. dismantling and storing shelving, shifting furniture and clearing out cupboards, to name a few.
Many hands make light work so we would really appreciate it if anyone can spare a few hours on Sunday, 8th November after Mass (approx 11a.m.). Just turn up and we will give you a job!
If you need any more info, please contact either Donna or Gina.
Thanks in anticipation.
Isabel Taylor was the first Year 6 student to receive a gold badge for 2020. She organised a whole school sports rotation. Well done, Isabel.
