Kia ora tātou St. Theresa's Whanau,
Thank you for your support of our Pink Shirt Day last Friday. We raised over $250 for the Mental Health Foundation. The theme of supporting one another and celebrating diversity fits so well with our values of respect and participation.
The long awaited Junior refurbishment is finally set to get underway. The contractors will arrive on 23 November and will be on site until Term 2, 2021. Although this seems a bit daunting, we feel blessed to have the support of the Parish and our community. We have a container on site to store large items and have a skip arriving soon to begin the clean out. Rooms 1,2, 3 and 4 will be relocating to the Parish rooms and Hall on the 23rd and will be able to stay there until the building works are completed. Further details on this will come from your child's class teacher. There will be no access through the gate beside the prayer garden, so all children will need to enter and exit through either the gate beside Room 8 or the field gate. Unfortunately there will be no access to the courts for parking, however the field will be avaliable for Saturday and Sunday Masses. Thank you to Jocelyn and the St Theresa's Parish, After School Care and the other groups who use the Hall for accomodating us through this time.
We are currently planning classes for 2021 and have limited vacancies across the school for preference enrolments. If you know of any Catholic families who are looking at enrolling their child/ren next year, please encourage them to make contact with the Office asap, so that they don't miss out.
Thank you to Maria Gair, Sarah Davies and the Parents & Friends group for co-ordinating the Bubble Art prints sale. They look amazing and are a very cool memory of a unique moment in time.
Thank you also to Chrissie Swift and the Parents & Friends group, who have made sure COVID 19 won't stop our Disco. I have spoken to many very excited children who will be attending tomorrow. What a great way to start a long weekend.
Have a wonderful break and safe travels to those of you who are heading away. See you all next Tuesday.

Optional MUFTI DAY for a gold coin – Friday 23rd October
Children are invited to wear mufti this Friday and bring a gold coin donation. The Parents & Friends Committee are working hard to fill the fundraising bucket that will cover the costs of the student kitchen in the Junior block! Please note that wearing mufti is optional and at the discretion of parents. Thank you in advance for your continued support!

Our world famous (in Plimmerton) Disco is happening TOMORROW
We know it's been a long time since we first sent out Disco info, so here are some reminders:
Years 1 and 2: 5pm - 6.30pm
Years 4, 5 and 6: 7pm - 8.30pm
Year 3s: Choose either slot
Children are required to be signed in by their parent/caregiver upon arrival. You will need to leave a contact number in case we need to contact you. You are not required to stay for the duration but if you leave, please keep your phone with you in case we need to call. At the end of the Disco, we also ask you to sign your children out, so we know they have left with their parent/caregiver.
Children will get an American hotdog, cold drink of water, glow stick and our amazing new DJ to entertain them. There will be more food to purchase (lollies, chippies, etc.) as well as glow products. The glow products sell for between $1and $5 and include glow sticks, bracelets, rings, hair extensions and batons. If you are giving your child/ren any extra money on the night, could you please give them COINS if possible?
You're welcome to stay and be part of the night. For those who are staying, there will be a 'quietish' area where you can sit and enjoy a cuppa - Sarah Davies will be there to welcome you!
Miniball results - Managers'/Coaches' reports
St. T's Thunderbirds: Another great game tonight - we won 5-3 against Postgate. Player of the Day is Ollie Blanchard, most improved player!!
St T's Tigers just never give up. Even though we lost 3 - 6, the whole team made great tackles, despite sometimes being knocked to the ground and there was a beautiful goal by Siena. POD goes to George for hard defense, great ball carrying and good sportsmanship.
Fittings on site here at school - please call the office to book an appointment.
For those of you who haven’t yet ordered:
- Instructions on how to order were sent home in school bags last week.
- If you have lost the form, please email pandf@stp.school.nz
- Orders need to be completed by Monday, 2 November at 9am.
- Remember, you can upload another image if you would prefer!
All funds raised from these sales will go towards a kids' kitchen in the new Junior block.
A reminder that if you ordered a Bubble Art print, these are now ready for collection at the School Office.
We still have a small number of unframed prints available for purchase - contact Gina.
Next week, the Parents & Friends Committee will start our next fundraising drive selling Sileni Wines.
These are beautiful wines from the sunny Hawkes Bay and are offered at highly competitive prices.
There will be a range of wines to choose from and you will be able to buy by the bottle (or case, if you’re preparing for Christmas…or another lockdown).
Keep an eye out in next week’s newsletter for more information and order forms.
Scholastic Book Fair here at School
