Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
What an amazing day we had on Saturday for our March Madness Fair. The sun shone and we had a great turn out from the community. Thank you to our wonderful co-ordinating team and to everyone who volunteered their time to support this amazing event. We have quotes for turf, shade sails and other ground work and the proceeds from this Fair will help support those projects.
A couple of photos from the entertainment on Saturday - there will be more to come.
A reminder that this Sunday is our first Parish/School Mass and we are celebrating our re-enactment of the Easter story. Please let your teacher know if you are unable to attend on Sunday.
Away for the day
In support of the Government's new cellphone policy, from the start of Term 2 here at St Theresa's, we will expect students' phones to be away for the day, meaning either they are not brought to school by the student (recommended) or are switched off and in their bags during the full school day. You can view a copy of the policy on SchoolDocs.
These rules are designed to ensure that the learning of all students is maximised, while minimising any potential for distraction and cyber-bullying. If a parent or caregiver needs to contact their child urgently during the day, they should call or email the Office.

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 24th March, 2024
Palm Sunday
John 12:12-16 and Mark 14:1—15:47
This Sunday is Palm Sunday and we have two Gospel readings. The first is when Jesus is welcomed into Jerusalem with the crowds waving palms and honouring Him. The second is the Passion which describes the events leading to His death. In the final part of this, Jesus’ true identity is revealed by the centurion who says, “This man truly was the Son of God”. As we reflect on Jesus' passion throughout Holy Week, we are reminded of the love Jesus had for us and that He is always with us.
In Room 7, we have been practising our greetings and responding to questions about how we are feeling, in te reo. We have been playing games to help us learn and practise our te teo.
We have also been making some really cool Beach Buddies. We got the idea from a school journal. A Beach Buddy is made out of modelling clay, shells and other random things like pipe cleaners, googly eyes, gems and coloured toothpicks. We gave them ‘beachy’ names like Sandy, Wavy, Rocky, Coral and Pippi. We wrote stories about our buddies.
Whole School/Parish Mass - Sunday, 24th March - 9.30a.m.
This Sunday is the first of two Whole School Masses that are celebrated during the year. All children are expected to attend, wearing their full school uniform and should meet their teacher on the court at 9.15a.m. In the interests of safety, the court will not be available for parking however, the school field will be. Please don't park in front of the field gate. Everyone is invited to the Hall for morning tea (for the parents - please bring a plate to share) and a sausage sizzle for the children, provided by the Parish.
Pool Keys need to be returned by Friday, 29th March

INVITATION TO ALL PARISHIONERS
The Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (APC) which works with Archbishop Paul discerning and advising on pastoral issues facing the Archdiocese, will be visiting St Theresa’s Plimmerton on Friday, 22nd March. This visit is part of an endeavour to better connect with parishes around the Archdiocese - to network, build connections and get a sense of the many ministries that are happening. The gathering is open to all parishioners, starting at 6:30pm with a cup of tea followed by prayer (Stations of the Cross led by our youth). Members of various ministries/groups will then briefly share what they do in the parish. Following the presentations, the APC members would then invite our parishioners to join them in a number of small groups (6-10 participants each) and lead the Conversation in the Spirit process to reflect on what we have just heard. This is an opportunity for you to meet Archbishop Paul and the APC members and to feel a sense of connection with the Archdiocese.

Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.

VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all
the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to
the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term,
simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
