A huge thank you to all the people who turned up on Sunday in the rain to help us begin the moving of our Junior block. We were so pleased with the amount of work we managed to get through and we are beginning to feel really excited about the refurbishment. The buildrers will be on site Monday, 23rd November and we have been told to expect them until at least the end of Term 1. This refurbishment has been on the ADW's plan for a number of years and we are very grateful that it is finally happening. The Archdiocese of Wellington are funding this project 100% and the funds come directly from your attendance dues. Below is a photograph of the Junior block modernisation:
On Tuesday we held our final powhiri and Mass of Welcome for 2020. Unfortunately the weather was awful, however the children's strength and beauty in their singing and haka definitely made up for it. Thank you to our team of morning tea helpers and whanau who supported us to enjoy this final celebration and welcome our new families. Special thanks to Mike Montgomery and Jude McKee for supporting Fr. Paul to celebrate a beautiful Mass.
Good luck today to our Yr 5 and 6 Zone Athletics participants and also our Kapa Haka performance group for their first after school performance.
Just a quick reminder of our 'Thank You Morning Tea' on Monday, 7 December at 11a.m. This is our opportunity to thank you all for everything you have done to support our staff this year. Please come along for a cuppa and a chat if you can.
Looking forward to seeing you all at our Parish/School Mass on Sunday and for morning tea and sausage sizzle afterwards.

PARISH & SCHOOL MASS - Sunday, 15th November at 9.30a.m.
On Sunday, 15th November, at 9:30am our whole School will be celebrating Mass with the Parish and children are expected to attend, wearing their school uniform.
There will be a sausage sizzle after Mass which the School and Parish will provide (no need to bring anything for this part!) as well as a shared morning tea so please bring along a plate to if you intend staying for this.
It has been a very busy couple of weeks in Room 2. We have been practising our speeches about a dream day, learning about different saints and moving lots of things out of our classroom. On Monday we went to Seussical, the Musical with Rooms 1 and 3. We thought the musical was amazing, fun, funny and exciting. We are really looking forward to our Bush Sprouts days!
The Parents and Friends Committee has a number of activities underway to raise funds for a kids' kitchen in the new Junior block.
Mufti day – Friday 13 November
Children are invited to wear mufti this Friday and bring a gold coin donation. Please note that wearing mufti is optional and at the discretion of parents. Thank you in advance for your continued support!
Don't forget to get your wine orders in!
Many thanks to those who already have already put their wine orders in. We have already received orders for 25 dozen bottles – and we know we can do more!
Please share the order forms amongst friends and whanau or even around your office.
All orders must be in by Friday 20 November 5pm and you can order here:
Parents and Friends Catch up
The Parents and Friends Group is having its last meeting of the year to reflect on the last six months and celebrate some great wins. Come along to join the korero!
When? 7.00pm Thursday 12 November - TONIGHT!
Where? Supply Room (previously D4)
Parking issues in James Street
Please do not park on the grass verge or where the yellow lines are in front of the gate as it is a huge safety risk for your children. We have had some close calls so please respect this even if the cones aren't there. We want to avoid a serious injury/accident. Thank you to all those who don't park illegally.
Two new students to welcome this week!
They've turned 5! A very warm (and windy) welcome to two new students who started school in Room 3 on Monday.
Addie Johnstone is the daughter of Chad and Lauren and Tessa Hasse is the daughter of Michael and Yvonne and sister of Elias in Room 7.
Our best wishes to both families - we look forward to a long and happy association with them and are very happy that they are part of our St. T's community.
Let us also remember all our family members and friends who have died.
These poppies are growing just outside our staffroom window - a fitting reminder to all of us.
YMCA After School Care here at St. T's
The Y is at St Theresa’s School! We offer a fun, innovative program that caters for each individual child, in a safe and relaxing environment. Your child will be supervised by skilled leaders who enjoy creating opportunities for play, in and outdoors. We use the school playground as well as the swimming pool in summer. We are well-resourced and have planned and spontaneous activities that include baking, arts and crafts, quiet areas, science and outdoor physical/ sporty activities.
Where? Parish Hall.
When? 2.45pm – 6.00pm. Mon-Fri.
All St. T's students are most welcome!
Contact Natalie (Centre Manager) 022 424 5917 for further information.
We are selling pool keys for the summer season. The pool will be available from the beginning of December until approximately the end of March, depending on the weather. Use of the pool during term time and in the holidays is outlined in the agreement attached as well as all the other conditions.
The cost of a key for the whole of the season is $100. Head over to the office if you're keen!
