Mai i te Kopae ki te Urupa, tatou ako tonu ai - From the cradle to the grave, we are forever learning.
Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a restful break and were able to shake off some of those lingering bugs that we had at the end of Term 2. We have started this term with much higher attendance numbers so the break has possibly had an impact on that.
Our senior children will continue to wear masks for the first 4 weeks and we are really grateful for your support with this. We are due to receive a new supply of masks from the MoE so don't worry if your child doesn't have a mask - they can get a fresh one each day from their classroom. We also have a good supply of RATs avaliable so please let us know if you require any.
This term we are busy again with lots of activities planned in and out of school, so please keep an eye out on the calendar for those dates.
Yesterday we held a very successful lockdown drill, during lunchtime. The children were all brilliant at moving quickly to the assembly point from wherever they were in the playground and were sensible and supportive to each other. We obviously hope that we are never in a situation that we would need to be locked down however the practice allows for the children to be calm and prepared in the event of an actual lockdown.
Our Year 5/6 classes are off to camp in Term 4. During Term 3 we will be directing the bulk of our fundraising activities to support camp costs and there will be lots of opportunituies for you to get involved. Thank you for your continued support of the Parents & Friends group with all of our school fundraising and social activities.
It is so lovely to welcome all our new children this term and we are pleased to have Room 1 running as a fullime classroom now. Jo Beasley and Shona Croasdale have arranged the rooms to create a very inviting and welcoming space for our brand new children.

Gospel for Sunday, 31st July, 2022
Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 12:13-21
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear the parable of the rich fool. The rich man in the story does not seem like a bad man; in fact, he seems like a smart businessman. Jesus, however, points out that this man's flaw was that he was thinking only about himself and his own comfort and security. When we fail to think about the needs of others, we call that a sin of omission. Each time we go to Mass, we ask for forgiveness for what we have done and for what we have failed to do. When reflecting on this Gospel reading, we ask ourselves how often am I thinking of and tending to the needs of others and how often am I thinking only of my own needs?
A warm welcome back to everyone but a very special welcome to the following students and their families.
Saanvi Naidu and her parents, Shalvin and Komal;
Makin Thompson and her parents Mwea and Erena;
Harper-Rose Hodge and her parents Brendan and Sara;
Likah Britz and her parents Riaan and Cherie;
Leona Lin, sister of William in Room 6 and her parents Jim and Meng.
We wish all of you many happy years as part of our St. T's community.
