Kia ora St. Theresa's whanau,
It has been wonderful to see the focussed determination the children have displayed towards their cross country training. Their fitness and stamina increases everyday.
We will be holding our annual Colour Run on Friday, 1 July (Week 9). We will require support at the different stations around the school. All the details will be coming out next week along with sponsorship forms, etc. Please mark this day in your calendars now.
Next Tuesday we welcome Zita Smith (Reviewer), Mary-Angela Tombs (Principal of St Francis de Sales) and Anna-Maria Vissers (Archdiocese of Wellington) to St.Theresa's to undertake our Cathoic Character Review. We will be welcoming them with a powhiri at 9a.m. on Tuesday. There is also an opportunity to speak to the reviewers on Tuesday at 2.30pm in the staffroom. Please pop in if you are free.
Friday, 3 June is our Kahui Ako staff only day and all staff will be attending a conference day at Aotea College. We are very proud of some of our staff who have been instrumental in getting this event up and running. Pauline MacLean has worked tirelessly with her Kahui Ako Across School Teachers to provide a packed programme of aspirational speakers and informative workshops. Arnie Pham and Jo Beasley are presenting workshops on Digital Technology and Dramatic Inquiry and we thank them for sharing their knowledge with the Northern Porirua Kahui Ako.
Have a great weekend.

Gospel for Sunday, 29th May, 2022
The Ascension of our Lord
Luke24:46-53
In this Sunday’s Gospel reading, Jesus ascends into heaven and the disciples remain in Jerusalem waiting for the Holy Spirit to be sent. We hear in the Nicene and Apostles' Creed that Jesus is now seated in a place of honour at the right hand of God, the Father. For Jesus to be sitting at the right hand is a metaphor for the fact that He is sitting in a place of honour and a place of power. In this place of power, Jesus is a great ally to us; He continues to help us and is always there for us when we are in need.
Welcome to our two new students
Two brand new students have joined the learners in Room 2. We welcome Remi Wang and her parents, Zitong and Sixing as well as Sophia Finiki, sister of Zoey in Room 8 and their parents, Kyle and Amy. We're so happy that you've joined our St. T's community and we wish you many happy and memorable years as part of this community.

TIN CAN COLLECTING: Can you help us please?
On Thursday, 23d June, we are celebrating Matariki, the Maori New Year. As part of this event, we are making tin can art by hammering holes in the side of cans to make candle lanterns. In order to make them, we will need lots of tin cans. You can help us by donating washed cans with no labels. Any size can will work but please no soda or tuna cans. Empty baked bean or tomato cans are suitable.
All contributions can be dropped off in your child's classroom and we would appreciate them by Friday, 10th June.
Thanks in advance!
Isabella Beach and Max Gair
You up for a tricky question or two?
1. I am an odd number. Take away a letter and I become even. What number am I?
2. What question can you never answer yes to?
