Welcome to St. Theresa's Catholic School Library

St Theresa's Catholic School (Learning Hub) - Te Kura Katorika O Hata Terēhia (Te Tari Akoranga)

Welcome to the library! Haere mai ki te whare pukapuka!

Our school library is a central Learning Hub for all students and staff members throughout the school year. Our School promotes a strong reading culture by having an effective library to support each child's learning journey during their time at St Theresa's.

The library supports the curriculum needs of the school and includes teacher resources. Our library is open 8.30-3.30 Mon-Fri and is staffed by a qualified school librarian.

New books are added to the collection each term and are available via a reserve loans system each week. Our library is a place for students to seek information, research classroom inquiry-based topics, and ignite and foster learning about their personal interests.

We have a strong focus on reading for pleasure, (RFP), for both students and staff. Reading for pleasure has numerous benefits including academically, socially and emotionally. The research is clear; RFP has a positive impact on mental wellbeing too. Staff reader profile posters can be seen around the school from time to time so lookout for these. Reading focussed competitions and challenges are added throughout the year encouraging reading engagement for all year levels. You can view our reading for pleasure library Dashboard HERE!
